About Eagala

Eagala (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) spans a global network of 1,700+ highly professional and passionate individuals incorporating horses into psychotherapy treatment. Every certified Eagala practitioner is a credentialed Mental Health Professional or Equine Specialist or Specialized Professional, passing through standardized fundamentals training, assessment, and then certification.

Post-training certified practitioners continue their Eagala training and refinement earning continuing education credits with options to do so through networking meetings that often involve practice with horses, webinars, mentor programs, global member meetings, and other continuing education opportunities.

Eagala provides resources, education, standards, and support for professionals incorporating horses for mental health and personal or organizational development. It’s a global network–the largest, most established professional organization for equine-assisted psychotherapy and personal development.

Skillsets Trainings are open to all!

Myth: Skillset: Intensive and Skillset: Group Work trainings are part of Eagala Advanced Certification.

Fact: NOT TRUE!  They’re separate (related but separate) and they're designed for different purposes.

Skillset Trainings are advanced practice trainings, not a certification track. These courses go deeper into specific clinical themes and practice areas, offering hands-on activities, tools, and resources you can immediately incorporate into your Eagala-model sessions with clients. They’re open to practitioners who have 1) completed the Fundamentals Training, and 2) logged 20 hours of Eagala client sessions.
Eagala Advanced Certification, on the other hand, is a formal credentialing pathway with its own requirements, review process, and outcomes.  In short:  Skillset: Intensive and Skillset: Group Work = advanced learning for practice and Advanced Certification = a credential.

2026 Trainings

Join new and returning Eagala members at an upcoming training.  This is, after all, the Year of the Fire Horse, and if you have not renewed your certification or obtained Eagala certification (yet), this is the time to do so.  From Pennsylvania to New Zealand, from Spain to Texas, there are almost two dozen trainings left in 2026.  Many are filling up quickly.  Whether it's Fundamentals you seek -- or Skillsets: Intensive or Skillsets: Group Work, there's something for you (and for your teammate/partner).  Trainings have a cap of 35 registrations, so we encourage you to get your slot reserved.  If you have any questions about Eagala training and certification, don't hesitate to reach out to us at either [email protected] or [email protected].  Bring your own energy to the Year of the Fire Horse!
